Founded by the directors during 2001, the organisation is proud to have consistently achieved the highest 3 star inspection rating with the Commission for Social Care Inspection in November 2007.To view our latest inspection report click Athena Inspection Report. Athena Care is owned and managed by:

Stella Baxter (CSS/BAhons/RMA/MCMI) and Paul  Barker (Level 4 Management/MCMI). Peter Angelides was appointed to the board as a non executive director in 2002. The senior management team has over 16 yrs experience of providing high quality outcome based social care services to people in their own homes.

Our national Case Management service is led by associate director Michael Heap (CSW/FRSA/MCMI) former deputy director of Gloucestershire Social Services and founder member of the Joint Advisory Group on Domiciliary Care in his role as Chair of the National Council for Domiciliary Care Standards (now the National Home Care Council) and Consultancy services.

The organisation is focused on the continual development and improvement of our service provision and commits to exceeding the National Minimum Standards (Domiciliary Care) introduced by the Department of Health during 2003.

Our 'Statement of Purpose' is to enable people through the promotion of independence to enjoy and remain living safely in their own homes for as long as they wish, providing a high quality outcomes based service.

Our UK wide social/health care workers provide our services in a professional, focussed and efficient manner.

The organisation commits to the rigorous selection and training of all social/health care workers in line with the key objectives contained within our 'Quality' and 'Training and Development' policies.
