Welcome to the Athena Care website.

Athena Care was founded during in 2001 by the Owner/Directors Stella Baxter & Paul Barker, we are proud of several achievements we have received throughout our history including obtaining ISO 9001: 2000 as verification for our Quality Assurance Systems, being chosen as the only care sector winner of the prestigious BT Essence of the Entrepreneur award during 2006 and being chosen as a finalist in three categories for the Great British East Midlands Care Awards 2009. 

Live in care charges are dependent upon assessment and are normally charged from £747 per week of service.

Since our first inspection in 2004 our care services have been rated “3 star Excellent" with the Care Quality Commission, including our most recent inspection in December 2009.  We deliver personalised support services that promote independence including complex neurological conditions,acquired brain injury and spinal injury and we can also assist with delegated level 3 health care tasks such as PEG feed,catheter care and bowel management and work in complete partnership with our service users and their families.  

We believe our focus to positively support the lives of those who use our care services is further enhanced when in 2009 Mark Allen accepted the role of Service Development Advisor. As a wheelchair dependent user of care services for over 35 yrs Mark oversees both existing and new service development for the company.

• Confusion / Dementia 
• Intermediate (Short Term Intensive) Care Needs

Our large team of specialist trained social care workers and personal assistants are based throughout the UK successfully providing outcomes based personalised care services to individuals in their own homes.We also support individuals attending College or University with dual note taking / personal care support and have an established holiday assistance service should you require support to travel both within and outside the UK.

Athena Consultancy led by Stella Baxter C.S.S/BA Hons/RMA Level 4 Award MCMI & Leicestershire Business Woman of the Year 2008, Dignity Champion and Paul Barker MCMI Level 4 Management Award.

The organisation achieved ISO 9001:2000 Certification during April 2008 and is a member of Ceretas (Formally British Association of Domiciliary Care), The United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) Action on Elder Abuse, Headway,UKBIF (United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum), BABICM (British Association Of Brain Injury Case Managers), National Homecare Council and is a corporate member of the Expert Witness Institute . We also work in partnership with Adult & Children Social Service Departments and Primary Care Trusts throughout the UK.   

All social care workers are checked at an 'Enhanced' level with the Criminal Records Bureau and Independent Safeguarding Authority for your safety and peace of mind.
