The organisation was also chosen as the only care sector winner of the prestigious BT Essence of the Entrepreneur Award for 2006 and was a finalist in 3 categories at the Great British Care Awards East Midlands 2009.
Athena Care is owned and managed by:
Stella Baxter (CSS/BAhons/RMA/MCMI) and Paul Barker (Level 4 Management/MCMI). Peter Angelides was appointed to the board as a non executive director in 2002. The senior management team has over 17yrs experience of providing high quality outcome based social care services to people in their own homes.Our deep commitment to support our service users is futher enhanced as the Athena Care board warmly welcomes the appointment of Mark Allen in the role of Service Development Advisor. As a wheelchair dependent user of care services for over 35 yrs Mark will oversee both new and existing service development, the focus of which is the provision of high quality outcomes based care services.
